Council Approvals FAQs – Central Coast

What is the difference between DA and CC for Central Coast council?
A Development Application (DA) confirms that your project fits planning zones, land use, setbacks, height limits, vegetation and neighbour impact. A Construction Certificate (CC) confirms building compliance, structural safety and code standards. Both are usually required unless using Complying Development.

Do I need a DA or a CDC for my home extension?
Small extensions that meet precise control limits, rear setbacks, height and glazing rules may qualify for a Complying Development Certificate (CDC). Anything that sits outside those controls requires a full DA. We assess your project and guide you to the right path.

Is it worth paying a draftsman to manage council approval?

How long does the council approval process take?
