Do I need council approval for a new driveway?

Can you design my driveway to work with an automatic gate?
Yes. Tell us at quote stage and we’ll design for it. We allow for swing or slide clearances, motor footing and posts, safety sensors, setbacks from boundaries, and a level landing if a sliding track is used. We also show power and data conduits, isolation switch location, and control box position on the plans so your builder and gate installer are aligned. Where needed, we detail drainage at the threshold (grates/channel drains) so water doesn’t pool at the gate, and we check sightlines, gradients and crossover specs to keep everything compliant. If you already have a gate, we can adapt the design to suit; if you’re planning one later, we’ll future-proof the drawings with conduits and allowances.
